MicroCenter Confirms the RTX 4080 Pricing

MicroCenter Confirms the RTX 4080 Pricing

The RTX 4080 is upon us at last, well, at least one version of it is at least, as Nvidia pulled the more confusing lower-end model to give it a bit of rebranding as a 4070 Ti. However, rumours on price and even the figures from Nvidia have to be taken with a pinch of salt, as retailers are the final word on the true cost to consumers.

MicroCenter has listed quite a few models in their store, with 13 custom models giving us a solid indication of the true retail price for the Nvidia RTX 4080 graphics cards. The bitter pill to swallow is that these cards now range from $1,199.99 to $1,549.99, which means the majority of these cards are priced above the MSRP, but since many of them are heavily customised, that’s not overly surprising.

The most expensive ones are pretty much what you would expect, such as the models from ASUS, MSI, and AORUS. However, it’s the ASUS that pushes the furthest ahead, costing around $350 more than the MSRP for the ROG STRIX OC/ card. Pretty bonkers because the rather impressive TUF Gaming is $300 cheaper, so the STRIX must have diamonds stuck to it or something.

Personally, I think the overclocked cards are a bit of a crock this generation, as the base models are pretty potent all by themselves. However, the aesthetics and overall cooling capabilities can vary, but at the end of the day, your extra few hundred dollars is likely going to give single-digit percentage increases in performance.

The launch of RTX 4080 is set to launch on November 16th, and what’s interesting is that the MicroCenter prices will only be available in store, these will not be sold online. Form a disorderly queue!
