Micron Launches 8TB SSD with 3D TLC NAND

Micron has unveiled its new 5100 Series enterprise-level SSDs, which boast 3D TLC NAND, 74,000 random write IOPS, and up to 8TB of storage. The impressive 5100 Series is a huge step toward all-flash data centres, especially as SSDs become faster and more price-competitive versus HDDs, and its massive 74,000 IOPS trashes the standard set by industry leader Samsung and its SM863, which can only manage 27,835 IOPS.
