Microsoft Brings Animated Start Screen Backgrounds To Windows 8.1

According to Softpedia Windows 8.1 will come with animated start screen backgrounds. These animated Start Screen backgrounds are not currently available on the Windows 8.1 Preview but will be made available on the Windows 8.1 RTM version.

These customisable animated wallpapers can be configured from the start screen personalisation menu available via the settings charm in Windows 8.1. Currently there are only a range of pre-configured backgrounds pre-installed on the OS with no options to add new ones but that could change with the final version of Windows 8.1.

These animated wallpapers move as you scroll up and down and around the Start Screen so the animations depend on the number of Live Tiles you have configured onto your Windows 8.1 Start Screen.
