Microsoft Issues Emergency Patch As Windows 10 Update Breaks OneDrive

It’s hardly any secret that the recent 2022 update to Windows 11 has predominantly seemed to cause way more problems than it was supposedly set to solve (click here for more info). In regards to Windows 10, however, with that also recently receiving an update, that one seemed to have largely gone off without too many issues.
Following a report via Betanews, however, it seems that Microsoft has had to issue an emergency update for Windows 10 users as it’s been found that the latest operating system update, in some instances at least, has stopped their ‘OneDrive’ storage feature from working correctly!
Windows 10 Update Breaks OneDrive!
As I’ve said many times in the past, I actually neither like nor use OneDrive. For me, it’s yet another piece of bloatware Microsoft attempts to clutter my desktop with. – For those who work remotely, however, and even those regularly on the move (and not to mention businesses), having the ability to cloud save your data in a place only accessible by the account holder is certainly a helpful tool.
Following the latest Windows 10 update, however, it has been confirmed that many users are now finding that their OneDrive is no longer working (crashing, not syncing, not being able to log in/log out – You get the idea!).
If you are, therefore, experiencing this problem, there is at least some good news as Microsoft has issued an emergency patch which will, all going well, resolve the problem!
Microsoft Provides a Fix!
With Microsoft confirming the issue, a patch is now available for users who are experiencing problems with their OneDrive service since the most recent Windows 10 update (KB5018410). – It should be noted though that this is not being automatically rolled out and is only available if the user manually applies it (you have to download and install it yourself).
Additionally, and like most ‘hotfix’ issues of this type, if you’re not experiencing any problems, leave it alone!
Should you wish to learn more, however, and download the update which will hopefully solve your problem, check out the link here!
