I’m a big fan of xCloud, albeit I only just realised it’s been renamed Xbox Cloud Gaming. Mostly because it’s the most competent gaming streaming service I’ve ever used and a far cry from the early days when I reviewed OnLive. Personally, I subscribe to Games Pass Ultimate, so the Cloud game streaming service is available to me on Windows 11, my Xbox Series X or my mobile phone. The library has grown significantly in recent months too, but this is a big one… Microsoft Flight Simulator is now on Xbox Cloud Gaming.
This is one of the biggest games to ever hit the platform, and it’s most notable because, on PC, this game is extremely demanding to run. That being said, it’s pretty demanding on the Xbox Series X also. It takes some serious GPU horsepower to get this game running well. Furthermore, it takes some significant storage space too. Having it all in the cloud, however, well, none of these things are an issue anymore.
This means you can play the stunning Flight Simulator on your mobile phone, and Xbox One, in your browser on PC, or on some piece of crap old laptop you have laying around. So long as you’ve got enough internet speed to stream an HD video and a suitable ping time, it’ll play great.
