Microsoft Has Reportedly Approved the Next Xbox and Its Costs

According to journalist Jez Corden, Microsoft has officially approved the next Xbox and its associated costs, confirming that the company will continue producing consoles. Corden’s sources indicate that the new Xbox project has passed the initial pitch phase and has been fully approved, including from the standpoint of production costs along the entire supply chain.
Uncertainty Surrounding the Launch
However, it’s still unclear when the new platform will be officially presented, and whether the rumors about a portable version, supported by Phil Spencer, have been confirmed.
The idea of a new Xbox without exclusives may seem unusual. Recently, Spencer mentioned that “Xbox will not become the new SEGA,” with the platform’s growth fueled by its multiplatform approach. It’s still uncertain how this strategy will align with the need to sell hardware.
The Potential of an Xbox Without Exclusives

The prospect of an Xbox without exclusives raises many questions about Microsoft’s strategy, especially considering that the company’s multiplatform approach seems to have no limits. Recently, it was speculated that the PS5 will see more first-party Xbox games than PlayStation in 2025, meaning that Microsoft will step in to cover the lack of Sony exclusives, which have been focused on live services. Perhaps these plans will be re-evaluated in connection with the upcoming Xbox launch.
