Despite ditching the wonderful Project Scorpio codename in favour of Xbox One X, Microsoft could use the moniker to brand a special edition version of the forthcoming console. When the Xbox One X launches in November, it will also release a Day One edition. In fact, this special console will be branded with the Project Scorpio logo, according to reports.
Two German retailers briefly listed a Day One Xbox One X today, as spotted by Xbox Dynasty. Specifically, the both listing carried images of an Xbox One X controller emblazoned with “Project Scorpio”. See for yourself:
In addition, the specs list a 1TB storage capacity.
Microsoft is launching Xbox One X pre-orders this Sunday at Gamescom. Microsoft says:
“Don’t forget to tune in Sunday at 9:00pm CEST / 8:00pm BST / 12:00pm PDT so that you can be the first to hear the latest news on highly anticipated games coming to the Xbox family and Windows 10. We’ll have world premiere trailers and, of course, more about the most powerful console ever made, Xbox One X.”
Xbox One X is out on 7th November. Microsoft’s MSRP for the console is $499/£449/€499. Who knows how much the rumoured Day One edition will cost, though.
