It looks like Microsoft are looking to invest into the Dell buyout talks, with the latest rumors teasing that Microsoft could spend anywhere between $1 billion and $3 billion in a leveraged buyout of the US-based PC maker.
The rumors are coming from CNBC who are reporting from “sources close to the matter”. We’ve seen Microsoft shifting gears from being a software-exclusive company, to releasing the Xbox, Zune and other hardware items, and now the Surface. Microsoft know they need to get into the hardware making game, and this latest news of a possible Dell investment or buyout really makes sense.
