Microsoft Says Xbox One Won’t Have Red Ring Of Death Problem

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer, who is head of the Microsoft studios, has been talking to Edge Online about what lessons Microsoft have learned from the Xbox 360. He acknowledged the red ring of death problem that Microsoft had with some Xbox 360s but went on to talk about how the Xbox 360 Slim, aka Trinity, variant had a dramatically reduced  RRoD or failure rate.

He then went on to say that he was confident in the quality of the new Xbox One and therefore that it should not suffer the RRoD problem like the Xbox 360 did.

“The last Xbox was Trinity [Xbox 360 Slim] and our success rate on Trinity was very high…We learned a ton from the 360 launch and we took care of our customers with the extended warranty, but I think Trinity is telling. Xbox One is built by the same Trinity team with the same learning that went from Xbox 360 into Trinity, and I’m confident in the quality of the new box”

What are your thoughts on this? I am personally happy to see the end of the RRoD because there is nothing worse than a poorly designed product that breaks under normal usage.
