We know that Windows 8 has been a success so far – but just how many copies have Microsoft sold of the new touch- and tile-based OS so far? Well, in the thirty days since its launch – 40 million licenses have been sold.
That’s over 1 million licenses per day, every day since its October 26 launch – a nice effort. Microsoft haven’t talked about Surface sale numbers yet, so they’re probably not too confident on their slate numbers to unveil them just yet. Xbox 360 numbers over the last few days have been stellar thanks to the Black Friday weekend sales.
Microsoft sold 750,000 Xbox 360 units over the Black Friday weekend – giving them a nice injection of sales, as well as fresh users. I’m sure a chunk of those customers already owned an Xbox 360, but there would still be new customers mixed into the 750k sales.
