The Surface Mini has long been speculated about. The concept is sound: Microsoft needs to create a smaller tablet to gain traction in the tablet market as that is where most tablets are purchased: in the sub 8 inch space. Now we have some more details on the existence of the Surface Mini after Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 user manual posted on the company website made several references to it:
Rotate Surface Mini the way you want it.
Bluetooth technology links your Surface Pen to your Surface Mini or Surface Pro 3, so when you click the button, your Surface responds instantly.
If you want to do more than take a quick handwritten note, unlock Surface Mini.
To date Microsoft has never commented on, or confirmed, the existence of the Surface Mini. The latest slip (or deliberate tease?) suggests otherwise, that the Surface Mini is in development (or at least was in the past). Recent rumours have suggested that Microsoft’s new CEO Satya Nadella and Executive VP Stephen Elop have backed away from the project. However, until Microsoft chooses to comment these rumours are just rumours.
