Microsoft to Discontinue Own Branded Peripherals In Favour of Surface Peripherals

Microsoft will no longer be manufacturing mice, keyboards webcams and other peripherals that are Microsoft-branded and instead are going to be focusing on their Surface-branded accessories.
No More Microsoft Branded Keyboards
Microsoft has for a long time offered its own range of peripherals mostly for the average PC users rather than gamers, with simple designs and ergonomics being the primary concern. Microsoft has now decided to step away from these Microsoft-branded peripherals and instead put their focus towards Surface-Branded accessories. Dan Laycock, senior communications manager at Microsoft provided the following statement to The Verge: “Going forward, we are focusing on our Windows PC accessories portfolio under the Surface brand,”.
More Surface Products
If you are one of those that like your Microsoft branded peripherals there is no need to worry about this change as there will still be Microsoft products, just under the Surface name rather than Microsoft. Although it is not clear whether existing products will simply be rebranded or gone forever Microsoft has stated that the current lineup of Microsoft peripherals will continue to be available while stocks last.
