Microsoft to launch social networking site?

Microsoft have recently purchased the domain name www.socl.com and the website was leaked across the internet, if you were one of the ones lucky enough to see it you would of seen a page that looks like this:
The statement on the page reads: “With Tulalip you can Find what you need and Share what you know easier than ever”. Tulalip is also the name of a native American tribe not far from the Microsoft HQ in Washington, which is a definite pointer at Microsoft’s involvement here.
A short time later the website was pulled and replaced with a message that read:
“Thanks for stopping by.
Socl.com is an internal design project from a team in Microsoft Research which was mistakenly published to the web.
We didn’t mean to, honest.”
You can still find that message if you visit the website now. It would seem Microsoft is trying to jump on the social networking bandwagon, it is interesting to note the Facebook and Twitter login systems which show that Microsoft is not going to be taking on the Social Networking giants but collaborating in order to take some of the share to boost its own position.
