NVIDIA GTX 1630 Coming This Month!

It looks like Nvidia has given us almost everything we need to know about their upcoming entry-level GPU. The Nvidia GTX 1630 isn’t going to set any world records upon its launch, but while many of you may mock the lower end cards, they’ve proven remarkably popular and will continue to do so, especially given the current economy has left most of us pretty skint.

Coming from VideoCardz, the full specifications for the upcoming GeForce GTX 1630 have been revealed, as well as the release date. The standard GTX x30 is based on the GTX 1650, albeit a little trimmed down to reduce the cost even further. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1630 is based on the 12nm Turing TU117-150 GPU, and features fewer cores and a smaller memory bus, as you might expect. The GTX 1630 features 512 CUDA cores, half that of the full GPU die. Compared to the GTX 1650, the GTX 1630 will have a higher boost clock, benefitting from the newer 12nm design, allowing for more performance within the same TDP.

The new card features 4 GB GDDR6 memory operating at 12 Gbps. That should deliver around 96 GB/s of bandwidth and should be more than enough for Full HD gaming builds. It is certainly a low-end card but does show some promise, and I can’t wait to test one out.

While Nvidia has set the release date for May 31st, these things are always subject to change even at the last minute. Either way, I’ll keep you posted as soon as we know more.
