As part of an idea to reel in more consumers, Microsoft is going to open six new retail stores in 2013 across the United States.
The shops will be open in the following locations:
Microsoft plans to transfer itself from being purely a Software based company to a brand and having a store with their products such as the Xbox 360, Surface tablet and phones powered with their Windows 8 OS should help them to do just that.
Who knows, maybe Microsoft could pitch their Zune media players in the future if they plan to do so.
Microsoft already has a number of pop-up stores across U.S. to push out its latest OS. Currently, there are about 40 stores. Its obvious that Microsoft is following in Apple’s footsteps after watching their success in the retail market with their products and accessories over the years. But if Microsoft plans to do just the same, they’ll need to do it right. Apple, Inc. currently has 250 stores in U.S.
