Many complained about the lack of storage on Microsoft Surface tablets and Microsoft seems to be finding a way around this, though it is at the expense of making affordable options. According to WPCentral a listing on CDW.com revealed a 256GB version of the Microsoft Surface. This tablet will use a 256GB SSD running Windows 8 Pro with a staggering $1199.99 price tag for the tablet only. This is roughly €950 or £850.
Microsoft themselves have yet to comment on the speculation but with it due in four to six days we could see this new tablet by the end of this week. While it shows no signs of being a Windows 8.1 tablet we could expect this same hardware configuration to be offered with Windows 8.1 when that is released later on this year.
The rest of the hardware is pretty standard for an premium x86 powered tablet. We’ve got an Intel Core i5 3317U processor, 4GB of RAM, a full HD 1920 by 1080 display, Intel HD 4000 graphics, N WiFi and a 1 year limited warranty.
Expect more details from Microsoft soon.
