Physical Copies of Mighty No. 9 Finally Ship and They’re Terrible.

Rule No. 1 of marketing – If you’re going to give something an impressive name, make sure it lives up to it! A rule not often followed but never was it so poorly observed than in Mighty No 9. The Kickstarter title, started by the original creator of Megaman, promised a spiritual sequel for the modern gamer. Oh, how it all went wrong!
Unfortunately, it has just got worse, proving that it was possible after all. Despite launching over a year ago, the boxed versions have only just been shipped. Guess What? They’re awful.
How the Mighty No 9 have fallen!
Mighty No 9 was going to revitalize the franchise. Give a modern graphical edge to a retro classic. What we got was Mighty No 9, a half baked potato. Like a half baked potato, if you were hungry enough, you’d eat it, but few would enjoy it.
After a year, however, those who pumped money in for the physical boxed copy have only just got them through. The overwhelming opinion is not positive reported Pcgamer.

That’s not all…
I finally got my Japanese manual and box from the #mightyno9 kickstarter and the manual DOES NOT FIT IN THE BOX! One last knife to twist pic.twitter.com/WFCWH7np7k

What went wrong?
Bottom line, the game’s manual doesn’t fit in the box. How they could cock-up something as fundamental as that I have no idea. The boxed copies should, just about, mark the end of what has been a shambles of a game production. The only positive I can give the project is that it was finished. That’s it.
If you want a Megaman game, try this one, it’s free!
It was so bad that even the creator, Inafune, was chastised for unconfirmed reports that he said that Mighty No 9 was “better than nothing”. I think this last tweet sums it up best. A sad end to a great franchise and a lesson for all. You know that franchise that you loved and wished they’d bring back?… this is what can happen!
