If you need access to further education, then Minecraft might be the surprising answer as Apex Minecraft Hosting is offering a $2000 scholarship. All you have to do is write about Minecraft. Given the amount of content there is out there and the endless possibilities it offers, how hard can that be?
Yes, and it’s not a joke. This scholarship was run last year under the exact same rules, someone won, and they’re now enjoying university life.
So what are the rules? Well, sorry but there is a catch. The first major stumbling block to many will be your nationality, you have to be American.
So at this point, assuming that you are American, congratulations, you have passed the 1st qualification round. So what else do you need to do?
Well, you must be:
Last year’s winner won by writing about the computer science aspect, such as Redstone circuitry reports PcGamesN. Sounds thrilling!
Anything you like, as long as it’s Minecraft related and within the above rules. With Minecraft having over 20,000.000 players, I’d be amazed if you couldn’t think of something.
If that snooze fest won last year, I would suggest that you make your 500 words as razzle dazzle as possible. The people who judged last years have hopefully emerged from that coma-inducing subject.
Being the King of mud-hut construction in Minecraft, I think my article would be of poor construction materials. Specifically, how they may not necessarily inhibit spiders or skeleton archers attempting to kill you and particularly the relevance on this in real world application.
I think I might be onto a winner with this idea, just a pity I’m not American.
You can enter the competition by clicking this link.
PS – You are more than welcome to steal my idea. Personally, if you do, I think you’re guaranteed success!
