Minecraft developer Mojang has revealed more sales figures about their infamous gaming title. For the first time the console version of Minecraft has been able to overtake sales of the PC & Mac versions, this has been driven by the huge popularity of the title on the Xbox 360 console among younger gamers. Indeed for most people it may well be said that the Xbox 360 version is a lot more accessible than the PC equivalent. Combining sales on all platforms Minecraft has nearly reached 54 million sales. The way those 54 million sales break-down across all the platforms of Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC/Mac, iOS and Android is not fully known. However, we have heard that as of April the Xbox 360 version had sold 12 million copies. With PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PS Vita versions of Minecraft coming later this summer Minecraft looks set to continue its sales surge. The Mojang studios, who develop the Minecraft title, made a staggering $326 million last year.
