Mojang is developing a native PS5 version of Minecraft, and they want players to test it. Currently, you can play Minecraft on PS5 using the PS4 version, but a new, optimized version is on the way.
To participate in the testing, you need the PS4 version of Minecraft on your PS5. Navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘Preview’ to access the new version. This edition includes the Tricky Trials Update, allowing you to explore trial chambers, meet a breeze, and craft a mace, among other activities.
Mojang emphasized that the PS5 version aims to run more efficiently on the console’s hardware, offering a smoother experience. However, this preview version might have some bugs, and the Minecraft Store will not be available. Mojang is relying on player feedback to identify and fix any issues.
After much anticipation, Minecraft for PS5 is now available. This new version promises improved performance and features. Players can try out the Tricky Trials Update, explore new realms, and craft unique items. However, since this is a preview, expect some glitches and limited features.
You can only play multiplayer with friends on PS4 and PS5, and crossplay is limited. Realms are still accessible for playing with friends on other devices.
