MINISFORUM Unveils 2K 144Hz Portable Monitor

While I’ve never heard of the brand MINISFORUM before, their latest press release certainly got my attention. They’ve just revealed their first portable monitor product, the MSS-A156, and it’s packing some pretty impressive features given it’s actually not all that expensive!

It features a 15.6-inch touchscreen display which features a QHD 2560×1440 resolution and a nice and fast 144 Hz refresh rate. However, most impressive is that the monitor is now available for purchase on the MINISFORUM official store at a price of just US$189.

With an aluminium alloy body design, it’s designed to be both strong and lightweight, and measures in at 357x223x4mm and weighs approximately 900g, so it should be pretty livable for those who need to travel with it, and should be easy enough to store in a bag alongside your laptop. Furthermore, it also comes with a magnetic protective cover that prevents scratches and doubles as a stand.

About the MSS-A156

The display specifications of this portable monitor are impressive. It features a 15.6-inch IPS panel with a resolution of 2560×1440, covering 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. With colour accuracy (ΔE) below 2, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, peak brightness of 400 nits, and a 144 Hz refresh rate, it caters to both everyday multimedia and professional design tasks. The MSS-A156 supports a 10-point touch, allowing content creators to interact directly with the screen using their fingers. Even without an external keyboard and mouse, it meets most usage scenarios.

Connectivity

The ports are located on the left side of the screen and include a 3.5 mm headphone jack, MicroUSB, two full-featured USB-C ports, and a Mini HDMI port. MINISFORUM’s Mini PC often support Power Delivery (PD) and can directly connect to this portable monitor using a single USB-C cable, eliminating the need for a separate power supply.

The MSS-A156 is widely compatible with various devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, Xbox Series X(S), PlayStation 5(4), Nintendo Switch, and more, providing seamless multi-device connectivity.

MINISFORUM’s first portable monitor, the MSS-A156, is an all-around product with high resolution, high refresh rate, wide color gamut, 10-point touch, full-featured USB-C, and built-in speakers. Additionally, MINISFORUM plans to introduce bundled deals combining Mini PC with Portable Monitor, offering users a convenient one-stop shopping experience.
