The software can be downloaded from the Mionix website and while the mouse is plug and play compatible, you’ll really want to get into the software and configure it to enjoy all of the features. First up you are able to reconfigure every button on the mouse to any other button or a macro setting. Then you can also configure double-click speed, scroll speed and should you have a need for it, you can also enable pointer acceleration.

The best feature of this mouse is easily the sensor, it’s very easy to change the settings and with separate X and Y DPI settings, angle snapping, angle tuning, pointer speed and lift-off distance to tweak, you should have no trouble finding the settings that work for you. You can even save three separate X/Y DPI configurations over three quick switch settings, and you can do this again for all five profiles.

If you want to customise the mouse even further, a full RBG lighting system will help you dial in your favourite colours and effects, or you can disable the lighting altogether if you need to.

Finally, we have the Macro settings page, with an easy to use record feature that will let you let in everything you need, then set them to your profiles and hotkeys with ease.

My tests on the sensor were very easy, mostly because this is the exact same underlying hardware at the Avoir 7000, and as I expected, the performance was identical in every way. There was no acceleration, the mouse is pinpoint accurate and the configuration options to change DPI, lift-off height, angle and more mean that if the mouse didn’t score well in my tests, I’d only have to change a few settings before it did. It really is one of the best sensors on the market that I’ve ever tested and you’ll have a hard time finding anything bad about it.

Gaming is an absolute joy, the accurate sensor will never let you down in any game, it’s as simple as that. The larger more ergonomic design means it’s comfortable to use over long periods of time and the large slip mats on the underside of the mouse gave great glide on soft, cloth and rough gaming surfaces, so a solid all round performance here.

Working day-to-day is great too, again the great sensor is perfect for any task from gaming to browsing the web, the ergonomics are great and having several profiles for the buttons configurations and macros meant I could switch between my settings for League of Legends, Torchlight II and Battlefield as quickly as I could to my settings for Photoshop or day-to-day web browsing.
