Mirrors Edge 2 to run on Frostbite 2 engine?

Despite the fact there has been no confirmation that Mirrors edge 2 is even in development, Britons Official Playstation Magazine announced that “the Frostbite 2 engine will pave the way for Mirror’s Edge to make a free-running return.”.

Mirrors Edge was released back in late 2008 and was powered by the Unreal Engine 3, it wasn’t the highest seller of its time, however it was something new to the market, something that hadn’t been done before and left many of us wanting more. The game was very unique, not only in its game play and concept but also its look. The cut scenes being told in cartoon style clips and the game using bright smooth textures made it beautiful to look at. It will be interesting to see what DICE can do with Frostbite 2 engine. If the first looks at Battlefield 3 count for anything I believe we are in for a treat.
