Misfit is a hardware company that makes wearables that utilize sensors to monitor activity and sleep. Today they announced the Shine 2, the next generation of the award-winning Shine Fitness and Sleep Monitor. Inside the Shine 2’s thinner aircraft grade aluminum body is more advanced hardware than before. This will allow it to more accurately track a user’s activity and sleep with its 3-axis accelerometer and new 3-axis magnetometer. Also improved in the Shine 2 is touch responsiveness, faster syncing, larger Bluetooth range, and more advanced firmware.
Adam Mack, Misfit’s Director of Mechanical Design said,“We’ve packed a lot into Shine 2, adding more functionality into an even thinner form factor with the same battery life. We didn’t compromise on craftsmanship or the user experience.”
The Shine 2 will retain the signature 6-month battery life meaning that this is one wearable that you are not going to be constantly charging every night. It is also water-resistant to 50 meters so you can keep it on when you go swimming, shower, or do the dishes. The Shine 2 will come in Rose Gold and Carbon Black colors that you can purchase from misfit’s website now or locally worldwide in November.
