MMA Fighter Paul Daley Shows Appreciation in Ability to Connect With Fans on Social Media

Using social media has given professional athletes the rare chance to interact with fans and potential sponsors in a unique public forum.

English MMA and kickboxing veteran Paul Daley utilizes Facebook to inform fans of upcoming fights, coaching and training activities, and other relevant information.  To learn more about his goals with social media, Daley recently told eTeknix:

“I think social media is a great way to directly connect to fans and supporters. I believe all media and promotion will soon predominantly take place via Internet and social media. It’s extremely effective and you can manipulate it to your needs and requirements.”

Companies, athletes and celebrities need to learn from social media and alter their behaviors depending on current trends. However, Daley had a more simplistic appreciation for what he has gained using Facebook to communicate:

“That’s I have an extremely supportive fanbase that can survive and grow through the use of social media, they know it’s me, they know I’m honest, so we connect. Like family…”

Daley continues training in both kickboxing and MMA at his own fight gym, Spirit Dojo, located in Nottingham. Look for him to enter the ring in a kickboxing fight against Latvian champion Artem Mironcev under the Phoenix Fighting Championship banner on August 16.
