Modder Brings Watch Dogs to Grand Theft Auto V

Even though there’s no point in debating which game is best, Grand Theft Auto V and Watch Dogs do have a few things in common, especially as far as gameplay is concerned. And while Watch Dogs is not exactly known for its impressive PC mods, the same definitely cannot be said about GTA V, which still enjoys plenty of attention from the modding community. Recently, a user that goes by the name of “JulioNIB” has released a complex mod for GTA V that basically brings Aiden Pearce and his unique skill set to Los Santos. This is not JulioNIB’s first mod, as he previously worked on a similar project for Grand Theft Auto IV.

Some of the most noteworthy features of the Watch_Dogs mod for GTA V include the ability to hack security cams, ATMs, cars and trains, but the player can also cause plenty of things to explode across the city, such as transformers, gas bombs and hydrants.

A custom weapon wheel, a victim damage indicator and a custom HUD were also added, not to mention the character’s unique walk style while holding one-handed weapons. Have a quick look below for a complete list of features, and if you think that you want to try out the mod yourself, you go ahead and download it right here.

Hacks:

  • burst wall lamp bulbs.
  • burst people phones.
  • explode transformers (“energy boxes”, commonly on sideways).
  • explode hydrants.
  • explode gas bombs.
  • hack security cam (models on walls +one for each traffic light).
  • hack traffic lights (make drivers crash close to the front of the pole).
  • rise blocks on streets (one for each traffic light).
  • hack ATM to:
  • bug the machine to release money and make people around try to pickup.
  • explode (like the transformer hack).
  • Blackout (accessed via the weapon wheel [TAB], only available between 21 and 3 hours).
  • Hack cars to:
  • Lock, Unlock doors.
  • Burst engine.
  • Burnout (driver needed).
  • Accelerate (driver needed).

You can perform those car hacks for all cars using the weapon wheel [TAB].

  • Hack trains to:
  • Stop.
  • Return.
  • Go.
  • Derail.
  • Disrupt helicopters making them crash.

Other features:

  • custom walk style when holding one-handed guns.
  • witness feature, people will report the player if they see you with a gun or causing trouble.
  • custom HUD to show the current weapon and “hack battery” amount.
  • custom weapon wheel.
  • victim damage indicator.
  • player damage blood fx.
  • police search area after witness report.
  • controlled wanted level (cops only will go after you if a witness succeeds in calling cops + you stay in search area or if you mess up with cops).
