Do you remember ‘Unrecord‘, that hyper realistic single-player FPS that played from the perspective of a police officers body camera. Well a modder has taken that and then taken Cyberpunk 2077 and fused them together into Cyberpunk bodycam edition.
Via DSOGaming, a video was shared by NextGen Dreams showing off a mod for Cyberpunk 2077 that transforms it into the Unreal Engine 5 Game Unrecord which we saw last year. The video shows of various Cyberpunk shootouts with the Police bodycam effect alongside some other mods to make the game look more lifelike.
The unrecord style bodycam itself is a reshade created by NextGen Dreams that utilises the AITrack face tracking program which is presumably used to create the more dynamic camera movements. This has been paired up with the NOVA LUT from theCyanideX, and the the Cyberpunk 2077 HD Reworked Project by HalkHogan. There are also two camera mods in use, Immersive First Person, Unlocked FOV, plus the HUD has been removed.
This looks really neat and gives a whole new look to Cyberpunk, though it definitely feels like a bit of a one off gimmick, something you’d try out for a bit but you wouldn’t try to complete the entire game with it, actually that sounds exactly like something I’d want to do. There is a bit of a caveat to that though, as the gameplay video only shows off shootouts and Cyberpunk combat is a whole lot more than just guns, so I’m curious as to whether quick hacks and melee work well in this mode.
The bodycam reshade is currently in Alpha and only available on NextGen Dreams Patreon.
