A modder has increased the memory on Valves Steam Deck handheld to 32GB.
Balika011 on X (Via VideoCardz) has shared their modded Steam Deck after deciding that 16GB wasn’t enough compared to most of the handheld competition and has increased the memory up to 32GB. This has been achieved through a difficult process involving desoldering and reballing the RAM chips making it a task that isn’t for the average user. Balika011 shared photos of the final work as well as evidence of 30.2GB of Ram on the handheld proving a positive outcome for the work. They haven’t shared anything about the performance improvements of this mod, however, if my upgrade from 16GB to 32GB is anything to go by, it is likely noticeable in certain games though unlikely to have been worth the effort, but very cool nonetheless.
