Noctua’s brown colour scheme may be iconic, but it’s very ugly and that’s a sentiment many people can share, I mean I’ve yet to see them used in a way that looks good feel free to prove me wrong. Because of this Noctua also have their Chromax.Black range which offers their outstanding cooling performance in a much more palette friendly black colour scheme, unfortunately this wasn’t an option with their RTX series GPU collaboration with ASUS, however that won’t stop modders from making it happen.
YouTuber and professional photographer Matt Lee recently shared a project which explores the “what if” scenario of Noctua and ASUS making a Chromax.Black variant of their GPU. The photo shared on Twitter shows off the thick quad slot GPU which has had its two brown fans replaced with two Chromax NF-A12x25 fans alongside matching mono accents. It certainly looks fantastic especially if you’re someone who dislikes the traditional brown colour scheme.
This project is currently being worked on so Matt Lee will likely share some better looks once it is finished. Maybe ASUS and Noctua will even decide to throw a few together themselves for a future GPU release.
