Moog, the lauded manufacturer of analogue synthesisers, favoured by such popular electronic artists as Kraftwerk and Gary Numan, is to resurrect three of its massive modular synths from the 1970s.
New builds of the System 55, System 35, and Model 15 Moog organs will be released as a limited run, priced at $35,000, $22,000, and $10,000, respectively. Aptly, only 55 units of the System 55 will be available, 35 units of the System 35, and 150 Model 15 units.
Each synthesiser will be hand-crafted to the original 1970s specifications, and boast a sound that cannot be duplicated by a smaller model, thanks to both the sheer number of components involved and the size of the cabinet, which helps sound to resonate, much like the body of an acoustic guitar.
