More Details Emerge About Lenovo Legion GO Including AR Glasses

More information has emerged about Lenovo’s Legion Go handheld with more details about the specs and even some AR Glasses that are expected to pair up with the console.

Again this information has been shared by WindowsReport.com and involves a new set of AR Glasses that are expected to pair up with this new handheld and possibly even a standalone device. AR Glasses themselves are nothing new but the technology is advancing alongside virtual reality and should be making a more common appearance in our lives in the coming years. These specific AR Glasses from Lenovo don’t have much information except for a single picture paired up with the Legion GO indicating that these glasses will have a gaming focus but there isn’t anything on the specific specs apart from that it features a USB cable presumably for power and connecting to your Legion GO or other devices.

New Legion GO Specs

In the previous article on this handheld, we were given vague information that it would be powered by a Ryzen Phoenix chip which has now been confirmed to be the same Z1 chip that the ROG Ally uses and it is likely to be the higher powered Z1 extreme variant with 8C/16T though Lenovo could come out with a lower powered Z1 6C/12T variant similar to ASUS. Keeping this chip cool is a reasonable-looking cooling system with a wide vent on the rear and an exhaust on the top of the console blowing the heat away from your hands and body. This exhaust is placed on the opposite side of the MicroSD Card reader so the Legion Go shouldn’t face the same MicroSD failures that the ROG Ally has been facing.

Ports and Buttons

The new images shared have also given us a closer and more detailed look at the ports and buttons that this handheld will offer. The Legion GO will be equipped with two USB-C ports, a volume rocker, 3.5mm combo audio as well as a MicroSD card reader. It’s a reasonable amount of ports which can be expanded by grabbing a dock that many existing handhelds are already working with.

For the buttons, we of course get our standard buttons on the front of the “joy-cons” ABXY, right & left stick, D-Pad, Menu, View and the trackpad which is similar to the Steam Deck. On the underside is where we get more interested in what will likely set this handheld apart from the competition. The underside of the controller appears to feature several additional buttons including the unique addition of a mouse wheel which could be a bit more intuitive for certain games and web browsing.

Final Thoughts

This handheld is shaping up to be a good contender in the market and with this much information already being revealed I imagine we can expect a reveal or launch before the end of the year.
