More Than 14,000 Call of Duty Cheaters Banned In Just 24 Hours

call of duty modern warfare 2 mw2

Cheaters ruin online games for the rest of us and are generally unpleasant people to be around full stop, so when 14,000 of them get banned in just 24 hours it’s a good opportunity to grab the nice wine.

14,000 Call of Duty Cheaters Banned

Last Friday, the official Call of Duty Updates Twitter account announced that a recent ban wave which targeted cheat developers at the source with new detections has banned over 14,000 accounts in Modern Warfare II and Warzone. Both of these games use the Ricochet anti-cheat which targets cheaters with more than just bans, but instead opts for using countermeasures to ‘troll’ cheaters and in turn gather information on the cheaters. Via Techspot, this cheat prevention has used strategies including, nullifying the cheater’s damage output, obstructing their view, disarming them and even providing hallucinations of decoy player targets which can provide valuable data on how cheaters operate.

I don’t see how anyone finds any enjoyment in cheating, it’s not even playing the game if you’re just snapping to your targets. The only enjoyment I see people having is the thrill of annoying other players. Imagine paying £50 for Call of Duty just to get your account banned for cheating.
