MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z Officially Launches

The latest MSI flagship GTX 1080 Ti graphics card model is an impressive sight at Computex, but it will finally be available soon. Expected to ship sometime in early July, the GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z is MSI’s most powerful GTX 1080 Ti graphics card yet. It is a triple-fan aircooled behemoth that is also heavily feature packed to keep fans of gaming and overclocking happy. The graphics card utilizes all the latest technologies implemented by MSI on their products. This includes the latest TRI-FROZR cooler design with TORX 2.0 fans and Military Class IV components.

Of course it has RGB!

Like with all of MSI’s flagship products, the GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z is equipped with RGB LEDs. The side and backplate edges all have a nicely diffused lighting that is controllable via MSI’s Mystic Light software. Users can synchronize their video card lighting with their MSI motherboard as well as several other peripherals.

Custom PCB

Underneath the hood, the MSI GTX 1080 Ti Lightning Z packs a 14-phase VRM design on a 10-layer PCB. MSI utilizes 60A DrMOS packages not only to fit that much on the PCB but for performance as well. It has three phases for the memory and requires three 8-pin PCIe power connectors. Overclockers will be glad to hear that the PCB also has several V-check points for measuring GPU, memory and PLL voltages directly. Several temperature and voltage monitors across the PCB also present for real-time readings.
