With the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics card expected to launch within the next few days, in something that is surprising (given the amount of information we have seen surrounding the 3080 Ti), we have yet to see much in the way of information surrounding its specifications and/or what level of performance consumers might be able to expect.
In fact, the only thing that has so far been speculated upon is the amount of memory it will come with. Well, following a report via Videocardz, following images of two MSI 3070 Ti graphics cards leaking online, we might finally have a categorical answer to that question.
We get to see both the MSI GeForce RTX 3070 Ti SUPRIM and VENTUS 3X graphics cards in the leaked images. Now, while these certainly look pleasant on an aesthetic level, a closer look at the sides of the packaging does seem to confirm that this GPU will feature 8GB of VRAM. Something that is definitely either mildly interesting or disappointing, depending on your view, as this is exactly the same amount of memory seen within the standard 3070.
With it featuring the same amount of VRAM as the non-Ti version, it will clearly be very interesting to see what Nvidia has done to make it the superior GPU of the two. Given that it will seemingly not come with more memory, the only other remaining options are that the 3070 Ti will either feature notably faster clock speeds and/or it may also see the memory speed improved.
Of these, the latter does seem pretty likely as while the standard 3070 has GDDR6 memory, this 3070 Ti (as per the leaked images) will utilize the ‘better’ GDDR6X platform. – With the official launch expected early next week, however, rest assured that we’re eying this one up with more than a little casual curiosity!
