MSI has been announcing new products almost every week and their latest is the A320M Gaming Pro motherboard, which is a bit more feature packed than the budget A320 Grenade motherboard they announced last month. The MSI A320M Gaming Pro uses a micro-ATX form factor with a single PCIe x16 slot (since the A320 chipset cannot bifurcate the PCIe x16 slot anyway, this makes sense) reinforced with a steel armor to prevent damage from buckling over time, and provides four SATA6G ports and two PCIe x1 slots. There is also an M.2 slot supporting form factors up to 2280 right below the PCIe x16 slot.
It has two DDR4 DIMM slots for running memory up to 3200MHz and has a modest 3+2 phase VRM design. It is more ideal for 4-core Ryzen CPUs and AM4 APUs than the high-end 8-core Ryzen proecssors. Since it supports APUs, it has a D-Sub port, a DVI port and a DisplayPort. For Ethernet connectivity, it has a Realtek 8111H controller and for the audio, it uses a Realtek ALC887 6-channel audio with three analog jacks in the rear.
Aside from the red color scheme, it also has LED lighting along the back of the PCB and on the chipset, creating a “halo” effect of red LED lighting. The MSI A320 Grenade motherboard was priced at $75, but this MSI A320M Gaming Pro is expected to fetch for a slightly higher price but still under $85.
