MSI AMD 990FX motherboard spotted in Las Vegas

The guys over at Tweaktown clearly have some kind of “special relationship” with MSI. While hanging out in a Las Vegas hotel room they happened across an AMD 990FX motherboard – as you do!
Being an enthusiasts board you get dual channel DDR3, 4 PCI-E x16, SATA3 6Gbps, USB3 and digital audio out. There are a host of “standard” MSI features like Military Class components, GreenPower design and Easy Button. But most interesting is the AM3+ socket which will support AMD’s next “Bulldozer” CPU and 990FX chipset.
Full details on the Zambezi platform have not been announced so details are scare at the moment. The chipset will support AMD’s Crossfire multi-GPU technology with all 16 lanes available on two of the PCI-E interfaces.
So the hardware looks great but what about the name? Big Bang Conqueror! We kid you not. We’re sure by the time it hits the high street it will have a name to fit with MSI’s current line-up.
Check out their video below for a preview of the motherboard and a look at the Vegas skyline from 53 floors up.
