MSI have unveiled the second GPX0 gaming notebook in quick succession as they have launched the GP60 alongside the GP70. Unlike its bigger 17.3-inch sibling the GP60 is a 15.6-inch gaming notebook. It features the choice of a 1366 by 768 or 1920 by 1080 display allowing it to capture a wider range of pricing. Like with all MSI gaming notebooks it still features a SteelSeries-made gaming-grade keyboard. In terms of connectivity the device comes with gold plated audio ports, two USB 3.0 ports, gigabit Ethernet, VGA, HDMI, a tray-loading optical drive and a multi-card reader supporting SDXC cards.
In terms of the main internals the device runs off of the latest Intel Haswell mobile processors with a variety of options. This is paired with an Nvidia GT 740M 2GB GDDR3 GPU and up to 16GB of DDR3-1600MHz RAM. MSI deploys a cost-effective hybrid storage system of 24GB of NAND Flash cache with 1TB of mechanical HDD storage. 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 provide the wireless connectivity. The MSI GP60 measures in at 383 x 249.5 x 32.3~37.6 mm and weighs 2.4 kg.
Pricing will vary depending on the components selected. The MSI GP60 should be available soon at Overclockers UK.
