During 2024, MSI showcased its next console with an Intel Lunar Lake processor at COMPUTEX and later more extensively at IFA in Berlin. Now, it seems MSI is almost ready to launch the new Claw 8 AI+ console model. It has been announced as a winner of the 2025 Innovation Award at the upcoming CES in Las Vegas. This suggests the manufacturer may unveil the improved console in early January.
Intel Lunar Lake Processors and Enhanced Features
As announced by MSI, the Claw 8 AI+ is one of the first consoles to include Intel Lunar Lake processors. While these processors have been seen in laptops, they have not yet been used in handheld console-like PCs such as the Claw 8 AI+. Along with this advanced CPU, which improves performance over Meteor Lake, the console features the integrated Intel Xe2 GPU based on Battlemage architecture, providing a notable boost in graphics performance.
A Promising Upgrade to the Claw 7
This updated model aims to replace the Claw 7, which struggled to gain traction with the public. In addition to the new CPU and GPU, the Claw 8 AI+ is expected to have a larger screen, faster and more capable RAM, and an improved battery. However, specific details about the release date and price remain unconfirmed.
