MSI Clutch GM41 Lightweight Wireless Mouse Review

MSI is one of the biggest names in the world for high-end PC gaming hardware. While they have many of the most powerful and fastest graphics cards and motherboards, potent gaming PCs, and class-leading monitors, among a few other things, they’ve also got an impressive range of peripherals too. Earlier this year, I took their brand new Clutch GM41 Ultralight gaming mouse for a spin, and it certainly left me impressed. Clocking in at just 65 grams, it’s one of the new generation of ultralight gaming mice, but it still came very well equipped with a great sensor and switches and a very reasonable price tag too.

GM41 Wireless

As you can see below, there have been some hardware changes to this mouse, and it’s not just as simple as sticking a wireless module in there. It features an ultra-light design at just 74g, which is impressive as that’s only 9g heavier than the wired model! You still get the same great OMRON switches throughout, and it’ll still do 400 IPS and 50G acceleration. However, the PAW3370 is swapped out for the PWM3389, which actually seems to be a bit of an upgrade as it’s gone from 16000 DPI to 20K DPI. The wired model uses the FriXionFree cable design. However, the wireless model is… well, it’s wireless. MSI includes a Frixion USB cable in the box that can be used to charge the mouse, connect the dock, or use the mouse in its optional wired mode.

What MSI Had to Say

“Weighing just 65 grams, the ultra-lightweight GM41 is perfect for competitive play, allowing gamers to effortlessly move and aim with agility and accuracy. Designed with ingenuity, GM41 has been constructed with every single part being as lightweight as possible. Hold the line in battle! The GM41 has diamond-patterned anti-slip grips with an excellent feel to touch and stays securely in hand with the slim shape that fits both palm grip and claw grip styles. A high-end optical sensor with extremely precise tracking delivers high speed reliability at 400 IPS and pinpoint accuracy up to 16000 DPI with a 1ms polling rate.” – MSI
