A Closer Look

First impressions of the GM70 are very good. This is one very slick looking mouse with a unique design. It sits slim, low and wide, making it great for multiple grip types. Of course, with all those additional panels in the box, you can fatten it out to suit your needs.

This mouse isn’t symmetrical on the top, as you can see that funky shape cut into it. However, the sides are, and you’ll find two buttons on the left and right sides. Of course, this means you can use it left or right handed.

RGB Lighting

On the front left and front right, you’ll also find two RGB LED lighting sections, which you’ll see in action shortly.

The mouse is pretty smooth, even if it doesn’t look it. The top panel has a gorgeous sandblasted steel look to it that gives it a gorgeous premium appearance. The mouse wheel is nice and large, but heavily recessed into the body of the mouse. The soft rubber grip makes it easy to control, with a light tactile bump for accurate weapon swapping. Tucked in behind it, there’s a small button for switching up DPI profiles. Of course, all the buttons are programmable, so you can tweak that plenty.

On the underside, you’ll find a few slip mats to give it extra glide. That being said, is quite heavy, but it glides very well anyway. There’s a small power switch, as this mouse can be used wirelessly, so you’ll want to be able to turn it off when not in use. There’s also a pairing button, which is again for the wireless functionality. Towards the front, a small slighting switch can be used to release the detachable cable.

Performance

This is quite a unique mouse out of the box. However, with extra panels, you can really change to look and feel of it quite drastically. Below, you can see the extended wings are snapped into place. These wings give you a good finger resting position for palm rest play styles. Of course, you will likely only need one of them dependant on left or right-hand use. Of course, there’s nothing stopping you from using both.

Here you can see the slimmer wings, which are the perfect size for a pinky finger rest. Again, these are magnetically mounted, so just snap it on/off and you’re good to go.

I think the mouse looks pretty slick with both the slim wings, great for a claw grip and fingertip grips. You can change the top panel too, which adjusts the length and curve of the mouse, just find which ever best fits your hand and you’re good to go.

In terms of gaming performance, the mouse is a beast. It’s very responsive and the OMRON switches feel fast and snappy, with a nice tactile and audible click response. They’re perfect for gaming, but since they’re all programmable, you can really fine tune the setup to your needs. The dual side buttons help too, and you’re unlikely to use left and right handed you can use the extra switches for macros.

Bring on the Colours!

The LED lighting is a nice touch too, it’s not too overstated and gives you lots of customisation. There are two light bars at the front, with an LED lit dragon at the back. You can set these to identify profiles, or just to add some visual flair to your setup.

The build quality and ergonomics are superb, and being able to tune the shape to your play style is a huge advantage. From playing your favourite games to those long days in the office, it’ll feel right at home.

It’s also aesthetically gorgeous too, obviously, that’s subjective. However, any mouse that looks like something off Batman’s accessory belt is cool in my book.
