MSI has announced that it will delay the launch of its RTX 5090 graphics cards to February 6, after previously planning to release them on January 30. Although pre-sales have already started, they are limited to a set amount of stock. Buyers who placed orders for the GeForce RTX 5090 will not receive additional stock on January 30. Instead, they can expect to receive their cards during the first days of February.
However, there is better news for those interested in the RTX 5080, which is the second-most powerful card in the new lineup. Customers who purchase the RTX 5080 starting January 30 will have their orders shipped on the same day.

The delay in the release of the RTX 5090 is causing some frustration among buyers, especially those in North America. The situation is not unexpected, as NVIDIA had previously warned about potential stock issues with the RTX 50 series. Although this is an unfortunate situation, the companies are working on resolving it as quickly as possible.
MSI is one of the few brands working exclusively with NVIDIA on this segment. Despite the issues with the initial RTX 5090 units, the company is determined to resolve the situation swiftly. Meanwhile, in the United States, some enthusiasts have even camped outside stores to get their hands on the highly anticipated graphics cards.
On the positive side, as of tomorrow, the embargo will be lifted on reviews for the RTX 5080. However, early reviews are not too promising, with some benchmarks showing the RTX 5080 is only about 8.3% faster than the RTX 4080 Super. Further analysis will be needed to determine how the new GPUs truly perform.
