MSI Finally Releases Radeon 7900XT/XTX Cards

Almost 2 months after the initial release of AMD’s 7900 cards, MSI has now released its Gaming Trio Classic Custom design for both the 7900 XT and 7900 XTX. First shown off at CES 2023 last month these cards feature a fully custom PCB with triple 8-pin power connectors, whilst retaining the same triple-fanned “Tri-Frozr 2” cooler design of the last generation 6000 series Gaming trio. Call it lazy but hey, don’t need to fix what isn’t broken.

The triple-fanned Cooler hasn’t undergone many changes from the last generation with it still featuring MSI’s TORX Fan 4.0 designed with pairs of fan blades bound together creating a ring design that concentrates the airflow more than traditional fan designs. Reduced Noise from the heatsink courtesy of the wave-curved 2.0 fin edges to disrupt unwanted airflow harmonics.

Looking at the specs of these cards both the 7900 XT and 7900 XTX feature the same boost clocks as the reference model which leads me to suspect they’re saving the overclocking possibly for a Gaming X variant of this card. With Prices coming in at around £1129.98/$1099.99 and £969.99/$949.99 for the 7900XTX and 7900XT respectively, There is an around $200/$50 increase against the reference model MSRP of both these cards.

If you are interested in buying one of these cards, you can find more information here at MSI’s site for the 7900 XT Here and 7900 XTX Here!

Do you like the Gaming Trio Cooler design or do you think they should’ve changed it up for this new generation? Let us know in the comments.
