So this is where it comes down to the real reason this card exists, at least in my opinion. MSI said they wanted to beat their competition at their own game, so they switched from their superb dual fan solutions to a consumer favourite triple fan. The end result is that it was as quiet as anything they had to offer, with 0 dBa at low load, and a whisper quiet 41 dBa at full load.
It’s not a huge result, but it did clock in a whole degree cooler than the EVGA card, and six degrees cooler than the ASUS GTX 1080 Ti. Given that it’s just as quiet, and pretty much identical in terms of performance, and that it’s also just a little bit cool, I think MSI has done a superb job with the design of their latest graphics card.
It’s also got both ASUS and EVGA beat in terms of the power usage, clocking just 348W at full load.
