Gaming is obviously what we’re all here to see, and while synthetic benchmarks only tell half the story, they do seem to have given us what we need to know. In all these benchmarks, the RTX 2070 is in the middle of the charts, with older cards sitting behind it, and the higher RTX models in front. Framerates clearly aren’t an issue here, with 134.6 FPS at 1080p and 49.1 at 4K.

Rise of the Tomb Raider faired even better, with a blazing 182.3 FPS at 1080p and 68.02 FPS at 4K. This is obviously a fast card, and for those who are gaming on 144 Hz monitors, you’re going to get a lot of bang for your buck. If you’re all about the pixels, then the RTX 2070 is looking like a strong replacement for the 1070 Ti.
