CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Read
The laptop’s M.2 SSD’s reported read rate of 550.1 MB/s is fantastic and within touching distance of some of the premium desktop systems. NVMe PCI-E SSDs still come out on top, but the GE62 6QD’s boot drive performs exceedingly well. There’s nothing too shocking regarding the numbers during the USB 3.0 or mechanical drive benches, but they are quite good for a portable system.
CrystalDiskMark – Sequential Write
MSI’s selection of a top-end M.2 drive results in a marvelous sequential write result of 458.9 MB/s. This enables the end-user to rely on fast write speeds in a compact package. The data emphasizes how capable slimline M.2 SSDs can be although the premium-grade traditional SATA versions reach speeds in excess of 530 MB/s.
