To test this system, we want to stress every component of the system to check stability and performance, giving us an idea as to why those particular components were picked for this system.
This particular system comes pre-installed with Windows 7, although retail units will ship with Windows 8.1 Professional. This does mean that there may be some slight variances in our performance results, but with this being an engineering sample, this is to be expected and they should therefore only be used as a guideline for comparison.
Many different software applications are used to gain the broadest spectrum of results, which allows for the fairest testing possible.

Whilst I highlighted the difference between GeForce and Quadro graphics cards back at the start of this review, I do want to prove my point with the difference and so even though this is not a gaming laptop, I will still run my three of our 3D gaming benchmarks to prove a point when it comes to DirectX optimisation and how it is handled on a Quadro system Vs top gaming desktop and notebook systems that I have reviewed, which as gaming systems are built for DirectX applications and not OpenGL as we see here. To add in the comparison balance however I will be pulling in the results that I recorded when I reviewed Asus’ Z9PE-D8 WS motherboard teamed with twin Xeon processors a couple of years back where applicable.
