MSI Reveals GTX 1070 & GTX 1080 DUKE Edition

Since the launch of the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 last month, there has been no shortage of custom graphics cards coming out from AIB board partners. In yet another release, MSI has released a new regional card for the APAC region. Under the new DUKE branding, the GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 DUKE Edition offer a solution optimized for the region.

Due to the higher temperatures experienced by the region, MSI has equipped the cards with a new extra-large triple-fan cooling solution. This stands in contrast to their usual dual-fan solutions they’ve released for Pascal so far. The cooler consists of three 90mm fans with a twin stack aluminum finsThe PCB is also customized and may feature extra features to counter the humidity found in the tropical climate.

The rest of the cards also sport the new DUKE branding with RGB LED logos. The GTX 1080 DUKE Edition, in OC Mode offers 1708 MHz base, and 1847 MHz Boost, while the GTX 1070 DUKE Edition in OC Mode offers 1607 MHz base, 1797 MHz boost. These speeds are comparable to those offered with the GAMING X variants of the card. No word yet has been released on pricing but I expect it will fall near the top-end GAMING X.
