A Closer Look
As mentioned the graphics card uses MSI’s Twin Frozr cooler which has three 6mm heat pipes, one 8mm heat pipe and a pair of 100mm fans.
The two fans are branded with MSI and Twin Frozr while an MSI Gaming badge/emblem sits proudly in the middle.
The large 8mm heat pipe carries heat into the far end of the dense internal aluminium heatsink. MSI equip a brown PCB and interestingly have half the memory chips on the front and half on the back.
Two SLI connectors provide up to 3 way SLI functionality as Nvidia drivers do not currently support 4 way SLI on the GTX 760 even though it is technically possible.
The card draws power from a 6 pin and an 8 pin, compared to a reference card which uses two 6 pins.
The card’s rear I/O has a full sized Display Port, two DVIs and a HDMI. Nvidia Surround is supported but this requires three displays capable of the same resolution. A fourth auxiliary display is supported.
Out of the box we have that 40MHz GPU core overclock while the memory stays at stock. The graphics card has 2GB of frame buffer over a 256 bit interface and is based on Kepler GK104.
