MSI takes gaming on a laptop seriously and have made considerable strides in offering plenty of portable gaming solutions over the past few years. Their latest release is the GP62X and GP72X Leopard Pro series which offers considerable gaming performance upgrades in the form of 120MHz 5ms display panels and NVMe storage support right out of the box compared to other conventional gaming laptops.
Each GP62 and GP72 Leopard Pro laptop is equipped with 7th generation “Kaby Lake” Intel Core i7 processor to maximize NVMe storage capability. These latest 7th gen i7s also offer Optane support so users are future-proof when it comes to storage path upgrade down the line. Each GP62 and GP72 Leopard Pro is also equipped with Steelseries gaming keyboards with full RGB backlighting and full layout (including a numpad) so it is an easier transition even for those who are not used to gaming on a laptop.
Each GP62X or GP72X Leopard Pro model can be configured with either GTX 1060 3GB GDDR5 (GP62 MVR X and VP72VR X VR models) or GTX 105oti or GTX 1050 for the non-VR models. These laptops will be available from most major retailers starting April 18, in a surprisingly affordable price range of $1,099 through $1,599.
