MSI MAG A850GL 80 Plus Gold Power Supply Review

A Closer Look
All of the cables are great quality and come with a flat cable design, which should certainly ease your chores when it comes to cable management.
The only non-flat cable is the 12VHPWR, but that does come with a good quality sleeving on it, and some bright yellow pins, which look cool, but keep in mind you won’t see the yellow bits once it’s installed.
There are also multi-device peripheral cables offering plenty of SATA and Molex connectors.
The PSU itself looks decent enough, and the key feature I can see here is the size, it’s pretty compact for an 850W 80 Plus Gold power supply, and with the 120mm fan in the middle, the PSU dimensions are pretty much the side of a 140mm fan.
Down the sides, there’s a large sticker with the branding on, simple stuff, but I like the monochrome aesthetic.
And there’s an identical sticker on the other side too.
As for the connectors, there are certainly plenty of them, with motherboard connectors on the left, PCIe in the middle, and peripheral connectors on the right.
The underside of the PSU is pretty bland, but has the important specification sticker should you ever need to check the wattages and amps of each rail.
With 70.5A/846W on the +12v rail, it shouldn’t have any problems dealing with the most powerful graphics cards on the market.
